Lament

When we feel abandoned, disheartened, or confused, God is listening. The Father is listening. Be encouraged my dear friend, whether whispering or screaming, he is listening to your every word.

As my husband held our daughter, and she leaned against his chest, he softly said, “This is why Jesus came.” In that moment, though tears dripped down our cheeks, the gospel washed over our hearts. Never had we felt more desperate for a Saviour. Never had we loved Jesus more.

Do we need permission to grieve? Is grief selfish? Should we be afraid of what others think? Are we letting the side down? Is it better to tell lies and pretend we don’t feel any grief, saying we are okay when really our lives are falling apart?
